Zaragoza is Spain's fifth-largest city and a university capital where your budget truly stretches: around 30,000 students from the University of Zaragoza, plus those of San Jorge, fill its streets, and the high-speed train puts both Madrid and Barcelona an hour and a half away. Rents are among the lowest of Spain's big cities, a tram crosses the city from end to end and the social life is packed between the centre and the old town. On Lupo Rooms you'll find rooms verified one by one, available all year round, with transparent contracts and no agency fees. You don't need to be an Erasmus student: any national or international student can book online.
These are the real prices of the rooms available right now in Zaragoza, per person per month, with no hidden fees:

The University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR), founded in 1542, is Aragon's big public university and splits its schools between two main campuses: the San Francisco campus, right in the centre next to Plaza Basilio Paraiso, with medicine, law, sciences, humanities and education, and the Rio Ebro campus, in Actur across the river, home to the engineering schools and the faculty of economics and business. San Jorge University (USJ), a private institution, has its campus in Villanueva de Gallego, some fifteen minutes north of the city, and stands out in health sciences, communication and sport.
The Universidad district and La Romareda are the classic student area: they surround the San Francisco campus and are full of shared flats, libraries and cafes. The centre and the old town put the whole city within walking distance, with La Madalena and El Tubo as the heart of the nightlife. Delicias is the cheapest option, next to the intermodal station, and Actur is the natural choice for the Rio Ebro campus: modern, quiet and with the tram at the door.
Zaragoza is one of the cheapest university capitals in Spain. A student room costs around 230-350 euros a month depending on the area; add some 180-250 euros for food and very little on transport: the youth pass brings the bus and tram down to very little per month, and with Bizi, the public bike scheme, you get around a practically flat city. Compared with Madrid or Barcelona, the same budget goes much further.
The tram is Zaragoza's backbone: a single line crossing the city from north to south, linking Actur and the Rio Ebro campus with the centre and Gran Via, a short walk from the San Francisco campus. Urban buses cover the remaining neighbourhoods, and with Bizi, the public bikes, any campus is a few minutes' ride away across a flat city. On top of that, Delicias station connects you with Madrid and Barcelona in an hour and a half by high-speed train.
