Salamanca is Spain's university city par excellence: the University of Salamanca, founded in 1218 and the country's oldest, and the Universidad Pontificia fill a UNESCO World Heritage old town with students. Here the student scene isn't one neighbourhood — it's the whole city, with one of the highest ratios of students per inhabitant in Europe and thousands of young people from all over the world coming to learn Spanish. On Lupo Rooms you'll find rooms verified one by one, with year-round rentals, transparent contracts and no agency fees. You don't need to be on Erasmus: any national or international student can book online.
These are the real prices of the rooms available right now in Salamanca, per person per month, with no hidden fees:

The University of Salamanca (USAL) splits its faculties between the old town — where the historic schools, philology and law sit beside Spain's most famous Plateresque façade — and the Miguel de Unamuno campus, southwest of the centre, home to medicine, pharmacy, economics and most of the health sciences. Its international courses draw thousands of Spanish-language students from around the world every year. The Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (UPSA) has its main site in the heart of the old town, next to the Clerecía, with well-regarded degrees in communication, education and psychology.
In Salamanca almost everything is a short walk away. The old town puts the historic faculties, the Plaza Mayor and all the city's life on your doorstep; the Oeste district, with Van Dyck street and its pincho bars, is a student favourite; Garrido, to the north, has the lowest prices, and the area around the Miguel de Unamuno campus is the most convenient if you study medicine, pharmacy or economics.
Salamanca is one of Spain's cheapest university cities: a room usually costs between 180 and 300 euros a month depending on the area, and a residence place between 430 and 580. Add around 180-250 euros for food and next to nothing for transport, because the city is walkable end to end. Cheap pinchos and a student-driven social life make your budget stretch further than almost anywhere in Europe.
Salamanca is compact and lived on foot: the Miguel de Unamuno campus is about fifteen minutes' walk from the Plaza Mayor, and the old-town faculties are even closer. Urban buses cover Garrido and the longer routes, with very cheap youth passes, and the train station links Salamanca with Madrid in little over an hour and a half. Most students don't need transport day to day.
