Alicante is the Mediterranean student city par excellence: the Universidad de Alicante gathers around 25,000 students on a single campus in San Vicente del Raspeig, six kilometres from the centre, and the TRAM takes you from the beach to class in twenty minutes. Sunshine almost all year, Postiguet beach close by and one of the most sought-after Erasmus destinations in Spain. On Lupo Rooms you find rooms verified one by one, with the final price upfront and a clear contract from day one.

The Universidad de Alicante (UA) concentrates everything on a single campus in San Vicente del Raspeig, six kilometres from the centre: one of the greenest campuses in Europe, with gardens, lakes and every faculty a short walk from the next. There you will find Law, Economics and Business, Sciences, the Polytechnic School, Arts and Humanities, and Education. Nearby, the Universidad Miguel Hernández has its campuses in Elche and Sant Joan d'Alacant, with Medicine and Health Sciences, both less than half an hour from the city.
San Vicente del Raspeig is the university district by definition: student flats right by the campus and contained prices. In the city, the Centre and the Mercado area put everything within reach; Carolinas and Ensanche-Diputación are central and very well connected; Benalúa is quiet and charming; San Blas concentrates student life at a good price; and Playa de San Juan or Vistahermosa are the choice if you want the sea a step away.
Alicante is affordable for a coastal city. In 2026 a room in a shared flat costs between 300 and 450 euros a month depending on the area, and a place in a student residence between 500 and 850 depending on the room type and the services included. Add around 200-250 euros for food and very little for transport: with the youth travel pass for the TRAM and buses you cover the whole city, and many students cycle or walk.
The TRAM is the backbone of the city: line 2 connects the centre, from Luceros and the Mercado, with the San Vicente del Raspeig campus in about twenty minutes, and other lines run to Playa de San Juan and El Campello. TAM urban buses cover the rest, with line 24 heading to San Vicente. There are commuter trains to Elche, Orihuela and Murcia, and El Altet airport is twenty minutes away by bus, with direct flights across half of Europe.
