The Catholic University San Antonio of Murcia (UCAM) has its main campus at Los Jerónimos, in the district of Guadalupe, built around an old monastery that gives it a unique atmosphere. Founded in the 1990s, it has made a name for itself in physiotherapy, nursing, medicine and sports sciences, and attracts many international students and athletes. The campus concentrates faculties, laboratories and sports facilities, and is connected to the centre of Murcia by tram and city buses.
To study at UCAM you have two strategies. Living in Guadalupe, the neighbourhood right next to Los Jerónimos, is the most practical and affordable option: a quiet atmosphere with the campus within walking distance. Espinardo is also very close and shares university services. The other option is living in the centre of Murcia or Santa María de Gracia and going up to campus by tram or bus: you'll have all the life of the city on your doorstep in exchange for a few minutes' commute.
