Universidad de Burgos is a young public university, founded in 1994, with around 9,000 students across two campuses inside the city: San Amaro and Hospital del Rey, on the Camino de Santiago, and Río Vena to the east. Small groups, close contact with lecturers and everything within walking distance. On Lupo Rooms you find verified rooms a step from the campuses, with the final price upfront.
The Universidad de Burgos (UBU) organises its degrees across two urban campuses. San Amaro and Hospital del Rey — a former pilgrims' hospital on the Camino de Santiago, now restored — host Law, Economics and Business, Education, and Humanities and Communication. Río Vena brings together the Higher Polytechnic School, with the engineering and building degrees, and Sciences, with Chemistry and the labs. The Faculty of Health Sciences, with Nursing and Occupational Therapy, completes the offer. It stands out in Human Evolution, with Atapuerca next door.
For San Amaro and Hospital del Rey, the centre, Parralillos or San Pedro de la Fuente work best: you walk there along the river. For Río Vena, Vadillos, Capiscol and Gamonal itself are close by. G-3 and Fuentecillas offer newer flats ten minutes away by bus, and San Pedro y San Felices is a quiet alternative very near the historic centre.
Studying at the UBU is cheap: a room in a shared flat is around 250-350 euros a month, and a place in a student residence between 450 and 750 with bills included. With food and transport, a student manages on about 600-800 euros a month, among the lowest budgets at Spanish public universities. Leave some margin for heating in winter.
Both campuses sit inside the city and are reachable on foot from much of Burgos: fifteen minutes from the centre to San Amaro and slightly less to Río Vena. Several urban bus lines link them with Gamonal, Capiscol and G-3, and the Arlanzón river cycle lane passes close to both. To leave town, there are trains and coaches to Madrid, Bilbao and Valladolid.
