The Universidad de La Rioja (UR) concentrates on its Logroño campus the faculties of Sciences, Arts and Education, Business and Law, plus the School of Industrial Engineering and the School of Nursing. It stands out in Oenology — Spain's most singular degree, with the Rioja as its laboratory — in Agri-food and in Chemistry, and has a growing range of master's programmes. The campus sits between Paseo del Prior and Avenida de la Paz, a quarter of an hour on foot from the centre.
To live next to campus, the university district and Madre de Dios are the natural choice: student flats, supermarkets and the sports centre close by. The centre and old town are fifteen minutes away and concentrate the atmosphere. Cascajos and Lobete, to the east, offer newer, slightly cheaper flats ten minutes away by bus or bike.
