Frequently asked questions

How long is the online Italian course for Erasmus students?

The course consists of 8 classes of 90 minutes each, fully online and interactive, with native teachers. The programme covers the essentials for your Erasmus: finding accommodation, taking the train, asking for information, exploring the city, going to a restaurant or the supermarket, and packing your suitcase. The final session is a 45-minute Q&A.

How much does the pre-Erasmus Italian course cost?

The price is €27 per class, in small groups of 2 to 6 people so you actually get to practise. You can also get an extra 15% discount if you forward the course page to a friend and CC us in that email. Spots at the discounted price are limited.

Do I need to know Italian to start the course?

No prior level is needed: the course is designed specifically for Erasmus students arriving in Italy without a strong command of the language. It focuses on conversational and survival Italian, with practical phrases for your first month, so you start from scratch and learn what you will actually use in everyday life.

Are the classes live or recorded?

They are 100% online and live, never recordings. We partner with Online Italian Classes, a school with a team of 8 native teachers. Since they are interactive and in small groups, you can ask questions, practise your pronunciation and clear up doubts in real time, which is the best way to gain confidence before setting foot in Italy.

How will Italian help me when looking for accommodation in Italy?

One of the first lessons is precisely the vocabulary for finding accommodation with no surprises: understanding expressions like "spese incluse" (utilities included) or asking about the rent. Knowing these phrases helps you negotiate and avoid misunderstandings. And if you prefer to play it safe, on Lupo Rooms you can book your verified room in Spanish.
