Universidad de Málaga is the big public university of the Costa del Sol: around 35,000 students spread between the Teatinos campus, to the west, and El Ejido, next to the centre. It has one of the largest international communities in Spain and a modern campus with library, canteens and sports facilities. On Lupo Rooms you find verified rooms a step from the faculties, with the final price upfront.

The University of Malaga (UMA) concentrates on the Teatinos campus the faculties of Sciences, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Law, Economics, Arts and Humanities and Health Sciences, along with the sports complex, the canteens and the adjoining technology park. The El Ejido campus, right by the historic centre, houses the School of Architecture and the School of Industrial Engineering. Together they add up to some 35,000 students and a wide range of degrees, master's programmes and international courses.
Teatinos is the natural area if you study on the big campus: student flats, residences, supermarkets and a metro stop at the door. If you are based in El Ejido, then La Trinidad, the historic centre and Cruz de Humilladero are all walkable. Carretera de Cádiz and Huelin offer lower prices with a direct metro to Teatinos, and Ciudad Jardín or Pedregalejo are quiet alternatives, the latter beside the beach.
Living near the UMA costs between 350 and 500 euros a month for a room in a shared flat, and between 550 and 900 for a place in a student residence with bills included. Teatinos and the historic centre sit at the top of that range. With food, transport and some leisure, a student manages on about 750-1,000 euros a month.
Metro line 1 ends in Teatinos and leaves the campus a few minutes on foot; line 2 follows Carretera de Cádiz to El Perchel, next to the El Ejido campus. Several EMT bus lines climb to the faculties from the centre and from the eastern districts. The C-1 commuter train reaches the airport in fifteen minutes and continues along the coast to Fuengirola.
